About the First Visit

We recommend your child's first visit around their first birthday. Our goal? A lifetime of great oral health habits. During your child's first visit, Dr. G will take the time to get to know you and your child. We'll answer your questions, discuss diet, and teach you how to keep your child's mouth clean. Your little one will have a gentle exam while comfortably in your lap. At age three, we'll start regular check-ups. We believe that building trust with our young patients is essential in providing them with quality dental care. We will make sure you feel comfortable by answering any questions or concerns you may have before starting the examination.

What to Expect

What to Expect?

Are you wondering "Can I go back with my child?" We welcome you to join your child's first visit. This helps build trust between your child and our team. After that, we encourage independent visits, but you're always welcome. Our goal: providing your child with excellent care and a positive experience. During your child's first visit, Dr. G will perform a thorough oral exam on your child while they sit comfortably in a dental chair. This allows us to check for any signs of tooth decay, gum disease, or other potential issues early on. Depending on your child's age and need, we may also take x-rays so that we can get a closer look at your child's teeth. Our goal is not only to provide excellent dental care but also education on proper oral hygiene habits for children. Also, consider reading some of our other resources for parents including: "First Pediatric Dentist Visit: What Can Parents Expect?" Insurance We Accept

Insurance We Accept

At Agape Pediatric Dentistry, we are dedicated to helping you make the most of your dental insurance benefits. As part of our commitment to providing exceptional service, we take the extra step of verifying your insurance coverage details with your provider before your appointment. To ensure a smooth process, please have your dental insurance information readily available when scheduling your visit. While we strive to work closely with your insurance company and honor your coverage, it's important to note that insurance policies can vary significantly. Although we make every effort to provide an accurate estimate of your coverage in good faith, the complexities of insurance contracts mean that we cannot guarantee exact benefits. Rest assured, we accept most major Dental PPO insurances, and our team is here to assist you every step of the way to ensure your child receives the best possible care.

Baby's First Dental Appointment

Baby's First Dental Appointment?

At Agape Pediatric Dentistry, we recommend scheduling your child’s first dental visit around their first birthday, though it can be even earlier. This initial visit is an important step in setting your child on the path to a lifetime of excellent oral health and habits. During this visit, we will address any questions you may have and discuss essential topics such as dietary habits and maintaining your child's oral hygiene. One of our doctors will conduct a thorough examination while your child remains comfortably in your lap. Once your child turns three, we will begin regular continuing care appointments, which we explain in more detail below. Our goal is to ensure your child feels safe, secure, and cared for every step of the way.

 Big kid cleanings?

Big kid cleanings?

At Agape Pediatric Dentistry, once your child turns three, we’re excited to start their "big kid" cleanings! During these appointments, we may take x-rays (pictures of their teeth), remove any plaque or tartar buildup, polish their teeth with our fun "tickle toothbrush," and floss, followed by a topical fluoride application to protect their smile. One of our gentle pediatric dentists will perform a thorough exam, checking your child's head, neck, teeth, gums, and bite. We’ll also provide personalized home care instructions and recommend products to help your child maintain optimal oral health. Our goal is to make these visits both fun and informative, setting the foundation for a lifetime of healthy smiles.
